Typical scenario
When we get the call
Design and planning
Typical scenario
A field under development needs its well design settled: multilaterals or monobores, which artificial lift, and how far the casing design can be optimised
Typical scenario
A long intervention campaign needs planning, and day to day operations already take everything your team has
Typical scenario
You have 100 wells to plug and abandon, and need the most agile way to start
Integrity and compliance
Typical scenario
Ageing wells need an integrity review and a plug and abandonment plan that does not wreck the budget
Typical scenario
A regulator audited your well integrity management system and raised non-conformities
Typical scenario
A regulator has shut down several wells over poor well integrity design and condition
Typical scenario
You need one system that genuinely manages the integrity of your assets, wells and subsea together
Typical scenario
You have acquired 100 or more wells on a mature asset, and need the extent of the degradation mapped in weeks, not years
Live operations and incidents
Typical scenario
A live campaign needs a superintendent and well engineering making the call, not opinions sent by email
Typical scenario
An old well starts leaking gas to the external environment from the D annulus, and needs well control contingencies and a fast, safe plan
Typical scenario
A critical downhole failure has triggered extensive downtime, and you need to get to the bottom of it
Typical scenario
A blowout investigation delivered inconsistent root causes, and you need a deeper, surgical analysis
What we deliver
- Basis of Design and concept selection through to detailed well engineering
- Deepwater, HPHT, managed pressure drilling and complex completions engineering
- Live, on-site operational supervision and life-of-well intervention support
- Well operating management systems, field workflow optimization and independent compliance audits
- Well integrity management and cost-optimized plug and abandonment planning for the tail end of the asset
How we work
Wells go wrong in the gap between engineering design and rig floor reality. Our senior well engineers work both sides of that gap, in deepwater systems, high pressure and high temperature environments, managed pressure drilling, complex completions and life-of-well interventions. We drive wells from Basis of Design and concept selection through detailed engineering into live supervision, and stay with them through integrity management and plug and abandonment. Well integrity and well control is where we started. Strong from North Sea experience and an international exploration background, we built up across every type of operation: deepwater, coiled tubing intervention, emergency well control remedial work and XMT design.
Every engagement follows the four Quartic principles, agile, transparent, innovative, hands-on, with deliveries tailored to each client's approach and standards. Our partners stay personally involved from kick-off to close-out.

Common questions
Do your engineers actually go to the rig?
Yes. Live, on-site operational supervision is part of the scope, and it is the same team that took the well through Basis of Design and detailed engineering.
Do you work for regulators as well as operators?
Yes, and it is a separate role, not advocacy for the operator: authoritative technical oversight for licensing authorizations, operator compliance monitoring and critical incident investigations.
